Custom Design


Pro-Dex Astromec has designed and implemented proprietary, state-of-the-art processes that include material resource planning software to improve overall operational efficiencies and effectively manage our supply chain, determine production capabilities, optimize resource usage, and maximize assembly flow. This attention to detail provides our clients with better process control, lead-times, and improved overall quality. In addition, these systems allow increased collaboration and communication among the various departments and facilities inside and outside the organization.

The 20,000 sq ft facility provides ample space for our intensive design and manufacturing operations. With a 3,700 sq ft processing and assembly floor and a 3,800 sq ft machine shop for parts fabrication, we facilitate all aspects of custom motor manufacture, from prototype design to final production. Pro-Dex Astromec is ISO 9001:2008-certified and is unsurpassed in speed, efficiency, and a dedication to improved process management.

Our manufacturing capabilities offer many areas for efficient product assembly. We have a spacious machine shop with dedicated lathes and mills for machining custom parts, cell-based assembly lines using 5S, and lean production techniques which produce goods through waste reduction and implementation of increased flow.

The engineering team designs your product using the latest technological advances in magnetic flux simulation, finite element analysis, and 3D parametric solid modeling to validate the complex and extensive design package.


As an ISO 9001 organization since 1994, Pro-Dex Astromec has carefully documented and controlled procedures guiding us through our processes, guaranteeing consistency and repeatability. Through constant, rigorous internal auditing as well as annual external audits, we offer a robust Quality Management System (QMS). Our QMS goes well beyond our internal practices, and focuses on our commitment to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. By incorporating lean manufacturing objectives and measures into our QMS, we have developed eight established lean metrics to measure our improvements in quality. Included in this process are processes to track first time yields, on time delivery, supplier quality and delivery, customer returns and associate skill growth. This strong foundation ensures improvement in our processes and quickly identifies and eliminates areas that are inefficient.

Automated testing systems are applied through the combined use of digital and mixed-signaling, providing in-depth analysis for verification of customer requirements in real-time.

Inspection of internal parts, assemblies, and final products are evaluated using tight-tolerance coordinate measuring equipment and the thorough calibration of inspection instrumentation to meet the exacting requirements of our clients' specifications.
